We are Cyberian Mine and Everminer — two interconnected projects that operate at the crossroads of engineering, entrepreneurship, and digital infrastructure. At our core is Max Matrenitskii, the founder and spiritus movens of the entire endeavour. Around him is a small but diverse team, spanning backgrounds in IT engineering (Seb), programming (Art(h)ur), and media scholarship (Jan). We work together across geographies, sectors, and disciplines to bring Bitcoin mining to life — both as a business and as a topic of serious reflection.

It all started 2018

This blog was born from our core principle: trust through transparency. In our business, that means open processes and clear pricing. But the idea goes much further. It’s also about being honest about the trade-offs and challenges we face while pursuing our vision(s). For that reason, we do invite you to join us in mining, but we do not sell you the story of becoming rich over night. We are here for the long game, hunt, and smart, resilient business in mining values from Bitcoin.

Scattered across our Everminer website and a few platforms, this blog is more than just updates—it’s a space where the team reflects on relevant issues and sketches out new directions. In addition to the Blog on our website–the one you are reading now–we also use the former Mirror blog, now the Paragraph platform for the raw and slightly less hinged (almost unhinged) thoughts on us and on the Bitcoin. For a more elaborate texts filled up with references, we are publishing our articles on Medium and Substack.  Some of these ideas will later grow into scientific papers that combine inside practical knowledge from the crypto-markets, from the mining scene, but also from IT engineering, crypto economics, social sciences, humanities, and finance—without ideological blinders.

Yes, it is a special feeling to touch the cooling pad after you finished installing and setting up 2000 ASICS.

And yes—since we’re just people, not machines—you may also find the occasional nonsense. But we promise not to make it boring. Most of the posts will be written by Jan, a media studies scholar who joined the team from academia. But the thinking is collective. Each essay or short reflection you’ll find here — usually published every 7–10 days — is grounded in our shared debates about blockchain, infrastructure, society, and the future. Here, you will also find our portraits and interviews with our partners, colleagues, and friends–all of which have either a point considering the business or an important input that we find relevant for sharing.

Follow us, join both of our living communities both on Everminer and Cyberian Mine, and become part of the global change.
